Neck immobilizer FS-05 (universal) is a solid durable device for immobilizing the cervical spine, used to maintain a neutral position, prevent lateral (side-to-side) rocking and anterior-posterior (forward-backward) flexion and extension of the cervical spine during patient transportation and medical care. This neck immobilizer has 16 size options for patient immobilization. Purpose The neck immobilizer FS-05 (universal) is intended for fixation of the cervical spine in case of injuries. The neck immobilizer FS-05 (universal) is used as additional equipment for immobilizing injured persons on medical stretchers in ambulances, in sports medicine, orthopedic centers, mountain rescue services, as well as during emergency care. Principles of immobilization Prevention of extension of cervical spine and spinal cord injuries is achieved by supporting the head and neck in a neutral position. The head and neck should not be bent forward, thrown back, or tilted to the side. The neutral position prevents friction and/or cutting of the spinal cord by the injured vertebra or foreign objects. Additionally, the neutral position prevents twisting or compression of the spinal cord, which can cause physical and/or ischemic spinal cord injuries.
